(note: a dau of Lewis & Teresa PAYNE) pg. 53 - 15 Jul 1887 - Mrs. Juda PAYNE died Wednesday last at home of husband Isaac PAYNE on Simpson Creek. Age 72 yrs. Lived in county 50 years, mother of large family - almost all living in neighborhood where they were born - known as "Aunt Juda". pg. 72 - 7 March 1890 - Sarah PAYNE, age 35 yrs, wife of Z.B. PAYNE, died 21 Feb. Worthy member of Mountain Grove Union Church. Left husband and numerous little children. pg. 121 - 15 March 1900 - Miss Emma J. PAYNE, dau of D. PAYNE, died Thursday, 1 March at 1 pm, age 16. Buried at Macedonia Church Cemetery. pg. 132 - 16 May 1901 - Mrs. James PAYNE died at home in Harris Twp. Monday, dau of Dr. J.G. HANCOCK. PAYNE died at home 5 miles SE of Doniphan Tuesday noon of consumption - about 50 yrs., leaves wife and 4 children, oldest, a girl, very low with same disease. Buried Wednesday at old Hancock Graveyard. (son of George W. & Thursa LITTON PAINE) pg. 181 - 15 March 1906 - Laura PAYNE died Saturday morning of consumption - buried in Old Hancock Graveyard. (dau of above James E. and Mary Hancock PAYNE) pg. 222 - 10 June 1909 - Martha PAYNE, age 62 yrs. (1847) died at home in Plunk settlement last Sunday - had a fever. Buried in Wilson graveyard. (wife of Thomas Miles PAYNE) - 24 June 1909 - Mrs. George KANELL (Sophronia PAYNE dau of George W. & Thursa Litton PAINE) died of consumption at 4:55 pm Monday after long illness. Married 1894. Belonged to Holiness Church. Had no children. Buried at Hancock Cemetery next day. (She is a dau of George W. & Thursa Litton PAINE of TN) pg. 224 - 12 August 1909 - William PAYNE died Friday night, 6 August of consumption at the home of Robt. STUBBLEFIELD. Buried at Hancock graveyard Sunday. (the fact that he is buried here suggests he is also son of George W. & Thursa PAINE) pg. 227 - 24 Feb 1910 - John B. PAYNE - of Pleasant Grove, died Saturday night of heart trouble. Age 52 - leaves wife, several children - had lived most of his life in Jordan Township.
