Cem listings for Ripley Co. MO Skaggs Lewis Cem Unknown - we found a large area surrounded by stones and rocks - large enough for 8 - 10 graves - but no markings on the rocks. Mrs. Henderson suggests that they might be a family named SKAGGS Odom Cem I quote from the book Remains of an old cemetery, pre-dating the Civil War, on what is known as the "old Odom place" - a large cemetery on a bluff overlooking the north prong of the Little Black River. Over grown and virtually inaccessible at the time this original listing was made with Mr ad Mrs Hume SKAGGS in Oct 1972. Much later this cemetery was said to be on the "Emmons place" - both families have been in Ripley Co. since about 1837 (Im not sure which "both families" she meant), and have intermarried. It is owned privately by a son-n-law of Hume Skaggs. Last burial here was in 1942 - many, many unmarked graves I show no listing for the Ingram/Ridges Cem in Vol. I, II, or III. I do not have book IV. I show a Lillie and Charles E. Scaggs at Lonestar Cem if you need those.
