In the 1870 Census, Larry (Lawrence) Powers (b. abt 1833) is found there, and his mother, Bridget (Donely?) is living with him. Both were born in Ireland. His sister, Annie Teresa, (b. 1846) is living there in Ripley County, MO as well with her husband, James C. Garton. We are not sure if James and Annie were married in MO or Dickson Co, TN. Can't find any record. They moved to Greene County, MO by 1880. Parents of LAWRENCE POWERS and ANNIE TERESA POWERS are believed to be MICHAEL POWERS (b. abt 1800?)and BRIDGETT DONELY / DONNELLY (b. abt 1803?). There is a 13 year gap in the ages of Lawrence and his sister, Annie, so assume there may be other siblings. Family seems to think that Michael and Bridget came to USA from Ireland abt 1859, but I haven't found a trace of them. They were devout Catholics, but Annie married a Baptist. If you find a connection of MICHAEL POWERS with your line, please help! This has been a brick wall for a very long time.
