Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ZNB.2ACI/64.1.1.1.1.1.2 Message Board Post: HI, I am a descendent of Susannah Sebastian b. 1774 & John E. Dalton through their son JOHN PATRICK DALTON b. 1801 and his son OLIVER DALTON b. 1833 If you have or find any information about the family and ancestry of SUSANNAH SEBASTIAN I would be very interested. Thank you, Lynn
Lynn, Dalton is an old family name in the county. There is an Elijah Dalton cemetery located three miles SE of Ponder on the Lewis Dalton Farm. Elijah Dalton settled in this part of Ripley Co. in 1832, although the Dalton name is found on early records (1812) in Wayne Co., the parent county of Ripley. So be sure to check there for further information. This family that is buried here is all out of your line. Elijah Sr. was born 22 Feb 1807 d. 3 Nov 1884 - obit in PN of 14 Nov 1884. Obit says he was born in VA 27 Jan 1807. He was the son of John Elijah and Susannah Sebastian Dalton. I would suggest you contact Thelma McManus in Doniphan or the Genealogy society there and order a copy of the book as there are too many to list here. If you have specifics you need other than Oliver and or John Patrick I would be glad to look and see if they are there. These two are not. A note for you, there is a Dalton AR located just south of the AR line into Randolph Co. I believe it is... Also there is a John and Priscilla (Dennis) Dalton buried in the Old Towell Cem., John died in 1859 and Priscilla d. 1857, no other dates listed. Notation to this family is listed in the History of Randolph Co. AR on page 275. (I do not have this book, go to Randolph Co. AR for a lookup). Jackie Could you please tell me how to access the older editions of the Prospect News? I am looking for information on a William Parsons, Mary Waters Cook Johnson, James Cook and Mahlon Johnson dating from 1890-1940?
