Odom Cemetery The remains of an old cemetery, pre-dating the Civil War, on what is known as the "old Odom place" - a large cemetery on a bluff overlooking the north prong of the Little Black River. Over grown and virtually inaccessible at the time this original listing was made with Mr. and Mrs. Hume Skaggs in Oct of 1972. Much later this cemetery was said to be on the "Emmons homeplace" - both families have been in Ripley Co. since about 1837 and have intermarried. Additional information was obtained from Mrs. John (Inez) McKinney) Borth of Doniphan in Sept of 1973. It is owned privately by a son-in-law of Hume Skaggs. Many Many graves are unmarked and unknown. Last burial according to markers occured in 1942. Denise, There are entirely too many listings for me to type them all up here. I would recommend you buy a copy of "Ripley Co.
