I see the confusion there Margaret. The cemetery book by Thelma McManus gives a different discription of Amity. It states: " Formerly located at the Bethany Church and also known unofficially as "Ponder Family Cemetery." Take old 142 east about 2.9 miles - cemetery is behind the Amity Baptist Church in Sec 20, T23N, R3E. Still in use and fairly well kept. Numerous unmarked graves. Listed May 1973, revised Oct 1975 with the assistance from E F Moore, Madison, Wisc. So there is a mistake somewhere or we have two cemeteries named Bellview. The one north of Doniphan is near the Bellview Church. USGI shows no Bellview Cemetery listed in the county so it's a historical name which ever one it is. However it does show a Bellview church and school and locates it at the one north of Doniphan off K. I will make a note on the page for Amity Cemetery about this confusion for future researchers. I am so glad you brought this to my attention.
