I don't have any information on the Moore family that you are interested in. I do know that there was a family of McDonald's that lived near the Pollard area in Clay County Arkansas, around that time. There was also a McDonald that was a school teacher there. Two of the McDonald girls married into the Allen Family. That would be McKimmie and Ella. Not sure if this is help to you or not. BJ
Hi BJ and thanks for taking the time to answer my post. First, I think that you have made some possible connections that are really very interesting! My ggrandfather; James William Moore was first married, as I mentioned - to Eliza Jane Smith. This marriage took place in Laclede Co., Missouri in 1868. By 1910, he was married to a Lucy McDonald and living in Ripley Co., Missouri. James Moore and Eliza Smith Moore had a son named John Herman Moore. His wife; was a Bird Broadway and following the death of John Herman Moore; Bird remarried to a Henry Beecher Allen. I have nothing further on the Allen family - but, from what you are saying - I might find more information in Clay Co.? Now, this may sound silly - but, are you talking about Clay Co. being in Missouri or Arkansas? And you say there were some McDonalds living in this Clay Co., also? Another interesting note here is that Bird Broadway Moore Allen had a sister named Mary Magalene "Maggie" Broadway and her husband? Jacob "Jake" McDonald...................brother to Lucy McDonald Moore! Talk about some intermarrying here? So, thanks again for your time. I appreciate the direction you have steered me to. Do you know who Eliza Jane Smith's parents were? Any names of her siblings?
