Hi Kay Yes, that much of the family I do know about............the Smiths? Eliza's father was William Brackington "Brackin" Smith and hern mother was named Jane. The family migrated from Bledsoe Co., Tennessee circa 1850 to Laclede Co., Missouri. By 1860; Brackin Smith is deceased. I believe that my Eliza Jane Smith was the only child born in Missouri, having been born shortly after they moved there - say............1852 or so? Her Smith siblings? 1. Hannah L. (b1831) and married a Benajmin Prior. 2. John Wesley (b1832) and married Mary Ann "Polly" Mizer. 3. Margaret (b1836) 4. Nancy (b1838) that was married to a Thomas Mallory and it appears had quite a few children with Pleasant Beard for many years and finally married him upon the death of his wife circa 1877. 5. Minerva J. (b1839) who was married once to a Payton Gifford Chambers. Hers is a sad story. 6. Rachel J. (b1841) who was married to a Henry Clay Crow, This couple migrated to Lawrence Co., Arkansas. 7. Wyatt (b1844) that was married to Margaret Jane Wilson. 8. Spenser (b1845) that was first married to a Sarah, secondly to Sarah E. Arnold and last of all to a Margaret "Maggie" Havens. 9. And lastly, my Eliza Jane that married James William "Jim" Moore. I do have a vintage photograph of this couple. He looks the perfect picture of the ruddy faced Irishman and Eliza looks either to be Creek or Black Dutch. So.................are you lucky enough to research Smiths, also? What do you think? Ring any bells?
