am looking for information about Hiram Lowery, b Feb 24, 1837 d April 26 1902. He is buried in the Murrell Cemetery. He may be the father in law of Isabella Johnson Lowery. At the time of death of Andrew Johnson, her brother, she was living in Poplar Bluff, MO. Isabel Johnson was born about 1872. There would be too much difference in age for Hiram to be her husband but only a few clues as to what happen to my great aunt is this: "Clay County Courier Friday March 11, 1927 Aged Richwood Farmer Passed Away Tuesday. Andrew Johnson age 71, died at the home of his son Wm H. Johnson in Richwoods community last Tuesday morning, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted and interment took place at Shiloh Churchyard Wednesday afternoon. Eld. Knox Belew of Success officiating. Mr. Johnson is survived by three sons Wm. H. and A. N. Johnson of Richwood' s, J. R. Johnson of Corning and a sister Mrs. Isabelle Lowery near Poplar Bluff. Deceased was a native of Kentucky. He had been a member of the Baptist church for more than 25 years." I would like to get one of these books, but did it have to be preordered? Where does someone buy one?? Kristin Bond
They have been taking pre-orders for almost two years now. They will sell any leftover books at a slighty higher price after the preorders have been filled. At least that's what I have been told. Contact the Ripley Co Historical Society. Their mailing address is on the Ripley Co MOGenWeb site http://www.rootsweb.com/~moripley. They are not currently "online" so do not have e-mail. They have been taking pre-orders for almost two years now. I believe though that if there are any books left over they will offer them for sale at a higher price.
