Hello, I don't have the names you are looking for exactly, but I think my family could probably be related to yours since so many of the names coincide. I have Henry Ambrose Towell, born 24 March 1858 in Carmi, White County, Illinois. He married Elizabeth Jane "Bettie" Pulliam on the 8th of March 1901 in Riplay County, Mo. They had five children that I am aware of, Allie Lee (b 1902), Issac Ellison (1903-1965), Lowery Wayne (1905-1955), Opal Irene (b 1908), and Earl Floyd (1910-1992). I have that Henry died in Ripley County 11 Aug 1912 and was buried in Union Grove Cemetery in Gatewood, Mo. I am not closely related to this family, I have this information because of their connection to the Pulliam and Bellah families (Elizabeth's parents). If you are interested in that line, please let me know and I will send you information, I also have information on Henry's children's marriages if you would like that. Good luck in your research. LIST RULES: 1) Keep your message genealogy related. No warnings, chain letters, etc. 2) Use the subject line to your best advantage. Some people won't bother to read your message unless the subject line catches their eye. I firmly believe that it is their loss, but do try to put something pertinent in the subject line. 3) Post messages in PLAIN TEXT only. Messages not in PLAIN TEST will be rejected and returned to you. For help in changing from HTML to PLAIN TEXT e-mail, go to http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm 4) If you have any questions regarding how this list is run, or have any suggestions for new procedures, then e-mail me privately at <[email protected]>. 5) If you do not like the way someone formats their queries or responses, or the content of their message, or the subject line; take it up with me or the poster PRIVATELY. List Settings: List Name prepended to subject line. Largest message allowed is 10K. Digests will be sent every 12 hours or 20K, whichever comes first. Three bounces and you will be removed from list. Hitting reply will send your reply to the list. Gateway: The message board for this county/surname is set up so that any messages posted will be forwarded to this list. You will know that it is a message board posting because it will start with this line: "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list." Later in the message it will give you a URL for seeing the original post and where you can post a reply. Posting a reply to the list will not benefit the original author of the message board post as chances are, they may not subscribed to this list. Also by posting your response to the message board, a copy of your answer will be sent to the list (so you don't have to do it yourself). The message boards are designed to work in conjunction with this mailing list. I am the admin for all of these functions so that they will work smoothly together to benefit researchers. My goal is to assist researchers by making their "online" research as easy as possible. Forwarded messages: At time I, as ListAdmin, must forward messages to the list. When responding to these messages, please send your reply to the list with a copy to the person I forwarded the message for. Sometimes they are not on the list, so will never see your answer if they do not receive a copy from you. If you have any questions, please contact me privately at [email protected] . Since I am the CC/Admin for several MOGenWeb counties and several surnames, please put which county/surname you are referring to so that I can give you a specific answer (with URLs if necessary). Thank you. Happy ansearching, Shirley Scott, ListAdministrator [email protected] ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Hi Doreen, Apparently, the George Lee you are asking about is the son of my ancestor by his wife who is not my line. My line is the wife (Elizabeth Holland) that he married after the death of his first wife in 1842. The following is from an article by Jerry Ponder, formerly of Ripley Co.: "George Lee, Jr., born in 1822 in Virginia, married a lady named Minerva, whose last name is not known. They had 4 children: George R. E., James C., S. Druza, and Elizabeth. George, Jr., died in 1852. Minerva died only a few years after and their children were taken by C.N. Kidd and raised. There was no record of any of them after 1860 except for George R. E. Lee who married Mrs. Ann Payne in May, 1869, and lived briefly in Butler County. " I do not know his sources. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hope someone else picks up on this and is able to help you. Betty, I would like to know if the George Lee you mentioned had a wife named Minerva and if so, was she a Freeman? My gr-grandfather's brother, Jacob Freeman, was in the George Lee household during the 1850 Census. Apparently, George and Minerva Lee and Jacob Freeman all died during the 1850s. Jacob was married to Gracy Davis. I would very much appreciate any information you might have. Doreen Pool Lynnwood, WA

I have two from you that I am in the process of coding and uploading into the website. I'm sorry I thought that when you wrote me earlier this week that I had answered that it was on my "to do" list for this week. I'm half way through updating Ripley and hope to have all the new information on before the week is out. I will, as always, send a note to the list with what is new on the site immediately after it is uploaded.
