Hi Nadeen, Haven't talked to you in a while and don't know if what you have is correct but I certainly hope so. It seems that I've considered Hardeman County before too but that's way back there in the cobwebs and I can't recall just why now. How did you get there? Looking back at your message........, darn, her name would have to be SMITH (never satisfied, huh). :) I think my husband's great-grandmother back down the line was also named Sarah Smith. Hope this one isn't also the daughter of another John Smith. If I find out anything I'll let you know. I'm glad to know you're still digging. Have I ever asked you if you know if there was ever a family bible? I wonder where it could be if it's still in existence. I keep watching "Someone's Missing Links" hoping for a little miracle. That doesn't cost anything. :) Good Luck. --------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "Nadeen McOsker" <[email protected]> To all the Rodgers researchers in Ripley County, I have found a marriage record in Hardeman Co., TN for a Willoughby Rogers to Sally Smith in Jan 1837. Can you tell me if this is the same Willoughby & Sarah Rodgers who shows on the Calloway CO., KY 1850 census and then shows on the Ripley County, MO., census in 1860? I know that several who were named "Sarah" were also called "Sally" and this date of marriage fits the correct time frame for the Willoughby Rodgers of Ripley County, MO. as Willoughby & Sarah's oldest child, my 2nd great grandmother, Martha Ann Rodgers was born 28 Mar 1839 in TN (I do know in which county). I am hoping that I have found the marriage record for my ancestors! After the death of Sarah (Sally?) Rodgers, Willoughby married Nancy Jane Shelton. Please contact me if you have any information regarding this marriage or any information on this family. Thank you! Nadeen [email protected]

I believe you are refering to George the son of George and the grandson of Asa Taylor. Do you know the parents of Virginia? I have both Taylor's and Poynors in my lines and will be glad to share. Ben
Hello, Does anybody on the list live close to the Doniphan library? Would you be willing to look for an obit in The Prospect News (on microfilm)? I am looking for information on Alfa Gordon WILLS. She died on December 8, 1929. Her name could possibly be spelled "Alfie" or "Alpha" WILLS. I was told that she drown. I'm trying to confirm if that is true, and if so where the drowning took place. Thank you, Elon
