Thank you so much for the offer. I need one from December 6, 1961 - that in-between timeframe - too late to be published, and too early to be in the newspaper archives. You are very kind to offer, and I appreciate it more than I can say. This is really a very helpful list. Thanks again, Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, September 18, 2002 10:15 PM Subject: [MORIPLEY] Re: Obituary Lookup > Linda Murray, > > I would be glad to do a lookup in the book I have which covers 1874-1910. > Just ask. > > Pamela Geisler Smith > Gresham, OR > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >
Linda Murray, I would be glad to do a lookup in the book I have which covers 1874-1910. Just ask. Pamela Geisler Smith Gresham, OR
Does anyone know of someone in the Ripley area who could do an obituary lookup for me? I have not been able to make contact with a volunteer, so would be happy to pay someone to do a quick check of the local newspaper's archives on film. Thanks in advance for any guidance/suggestions, Linda Murray Marietta, Georgia Census/Cemetery/Marriage Lookup Volunteer

LIST RULES: 1) Keep your message genealogy related. No warnings, chain letters, etc. 2) Use the subject line to your best advantage. Some people won't bother to read your message unless the subject line catches their eye. I firmly believe that it is their loss, but do try to put something pertinent in the subject line. 3) Post messages in PLAIN TEXT only. Messages not in PLAIN TEST will be rejected and returned to you. For help in changing from HTML to PLAIN TEXT e-mail, go to http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/listowners/html-off.htm 4) If you have any questions regarding how this list is run, or have any suggestions for new procedures, then e-mail me privately at <[email protected]>. 5) If you do not like the way someone formats their queries or responses, or the content of their message, or the subject line; take it up with me or the poster PRIVATELY. List Settings: List Name prepended to subject line. Largest message allowed is 10K. Digests will be sent every 12 hours or 20K, whichever comes first. Three bounces and you will be removed from list. Hitting reply will send your reply to the list. Gateway: The message board for this county/surname is set up so that any messages posted will be forwarded to this list. You will know that it is a message board posting because it will start with this line: "This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list." Later in the message it will give you a URL for seeing the original post and where you can post a reply. Posting a reply to the list will not benefit the original author of the message board post as chances are, they may not subscribed to this list. Also by posting your response to the message board, a copy of your answer will be sent to the list (so you don't have to do it yourself). The message boards are designed to work in conjunction with this mailing list. I am the admin for all of these functions so that they will work smoothly together to benefit researchers. My goal is to assist researchers by making their "online" research as easy as possible. Forwarded messages: At time I, as ListAdmin, must forward messages to the list. When responding to these messages, please send your reply to the list with a copy to the person I forwarded the message for. Sometimes they are not on the list, so will never see your answer if they do not receive a copy from you. If you have any questions, please contact me privately at [email protected] . Since I am the CC/Admin for several MOGenWeb counties and several surnames, please put which county/surname you are referring to so that I can give you a specific answer (with URLs if necessary). 9-12-02 Dear Libbie, Thanks for the message about John P. Ponder. I have Thomas A. Ponder born between 1824-1825 and his son, Thomas A. Ponder, born December 1857. His children are Martha, Mary, Holloway, Albert, Thomas A., and Treasey. I don't know Thomas A. Ponder's parents. I don't have the brother's birth place (county) in TN nor marriage date for Thomas A. to Jane Powers? Do you have the approximate year of birth for John P. Ponder? I assume that Daniel Kinzie Ponder is the father of John P. Ponder. So, do you have any more information on John P. Ponder's father Daniel? It might lead me to his brother Thomas A. Ponder. If I can be of any help with any of your questions, please let me know. Thanks much. Frances Murray Ponder had one sister unaccounted for. She was Lillie Murray Thornton, and it's possible she may have gone to Missouri, but I believe she went from Georgia to the Florence, South Carolina, area. The other siblings definitely never lived in Missouri. If your Murray was my missing Lillie, I'd love to hear from you.
