Any record of a brother named Samuel Lowe Tull? These two lived near each other in Jackson County, IL in the 1850 census. Trying to determine if there is a connection.
Hi.....Is anyone researching the Short family of Ripley Co., MO.? I'm looking for parents for 3 siblings that were in Shannon Co., MO. in the 1850 Census - William SHORT b. abt. 1832 MO. Moses SHORT b. 1833 MO. Mary Jane SHORT b. abt. 1835 MO. Their father was born in NC., mother born KY., according to the information given on the 1880 census. In the 1850 Ripley Co., MO. census is siblings Joel F. SHORT b. abt. 1832 MO. & Demerris SHORT b. abt. 1835 MO. Elizabeth SHORT b. abt. 1833 MO., is also in the household. I don't know if she was another sibling, or the spouse of Joel F. SHORT. I'm wondering if there is a connection between the Ripley & Shannon Co., MO. SHORT listed in the 1850 census. Many thanks for any help. Happy New Year! Gloria [email protected]

Marge, I looked to see if John & Augusta Weise were still in Ironton 1870 & 1880 ... John has died between 1860 & 1870 but Augusta Weise (widow on the 1880 census) is living with a daughter & son in-law there 1870 & 1880. Her birthplace is Saxon / Saxony, which I'm sure is the first part of her birthplace on the 1860 census you are having trouble with. Let me know if you need the 1870 & 1880 census info. Thank you to all who emailed back with suggestions.. I will go with Saxen Urope, as it looks like the place is spelled on the census. Trying to stay true to the actual writing... even when I know what the spelling should be. (putting notation on ones I have proof are wrong or am unsure of). I am about half way done (proofing while inputting). I lost about half of the volunteer work, as I had a computer crash, and thought by submitting the partial I was backed up already.. so hadn't saved a backup... bummer... but getting it done. For anyone who is serious about doing research, and knows they will be doing a lot of census research... volunteering to index the census for the genweb project is a great way to view different styles of handwriting... Your grandfather was Ira Cullison, and, because of pronunciation in the Doniphan area, I grew up hearing about Uncle "Arry." When I started doing genealogy, I couldn't find anything on an "Arry" Cullison, until finally I got a document that listed him as Ira!! Who would have thought! Do you have a class picture of the old Post Oak School that includes the following Kings: Dave and Hattie (my great grandparents, Charles (Hez) - my grandfather, my Uncle Arthur, Barbara, Cora.... If you don't I would be really happy to send you a photocopy. I have some copies that turned out really well. The thing I always heard about Hattie, Aunt Barb, and Cora were that they were quite tall. Indeed, in the picture, Hattie is just about the same height as Dave. Did you know that Dave was an idental twin to Uncle Alf? Cora, Dave's daughter, married Clark, Alf's son. Interesting, huh! They had two daughters, Lucille and Helene. Hi Rose Ella Mae Honeycutt was my great grandmother. The only information I have on her is that her father was James W. Honeycutt b. abt 1857 Ripley Co. Mo. He married Dolley Susan Forrest 15 Oct 1882 Ripley Co. Mo. Besides Ella Mae, they also had son Willard. 1910 Ripley County Mo. census has Willy/Willard living with the Jody Throckmartin family and is listed as orphan. Ella mae is listed in same census with the James Sewell family and listed as adopted. James Sewell had a daughter named Lula who married Charlie Crews. My grandmother said that her mother Ella Mae always said they were related to the crews family. Ella and Lula always remained close. Maybe your Dicie is a sister to James? It's one more place to look any way. This is all I have so every bit helps.
