Now all I have to do interpret the description on my township map. My ancestor, Gatsey Trewit Hall, and her husband Ichabod Hall were among the inhabitants of Marion Co in the late 1830s and in the 1840 census. It appears that Marion was used for not much longer. No townships were used in the 1850 census for Ray and Marion was not included among the townships for the 1860 census. Knoxville township appears in the 1860 census and probably took the place of Marion. I have not been able to find the creation date for Knoxville Township. Does your history book mention Knoxville Twnshp? Thank you very much for your interest and help. Ray
