Martha Creason on March 11, 1838 in Ray County. Thomas died on April 8, 1848. His father was John Taylor. Martha then md Willis Greenlee in 1849. Thomas & Martha's daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Martin md William Hersel Minick July 17, 1862. They were my gggrandparents. William supposedly left home at the age of 12 after an argument with his father. He joined a wagon train and I have not been able to trace him until his marriage to Betsy. I have a copy of Thomas Martin's will naming his wife Martha and 2 sisters, Hiley Palmyra Robins (I have not been able to locate a marriage between Hiley Martin and a Mr. Robins) and Mary Amanda Martin. He left sections of his property to both sisters. The will does not list any of the Martin children, Wade Hampton, William, Walter, Mary Elizabeth, Martha or Hiley. I assume he provided well enough for Martha to take care of their children. I also have the 1850 Ray Cty. census listing Willis & Ma! rtha. I found Martha Greenlee, age 47, in the 1870 census but Willis was not listed. She remarried Nicholas Wibey in Ray County on July 7, 1872. Martha Creason's parentage is still in question. I have lots of info on the Creasons but cannot seem to confirm anything. Several people have said her father was Walter, but others disagree. Would love to compare notes with you.
