Surnames: Milstead, Mann Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XNB.2ACI/787 Message Board Post: Narcissa Mann Milstead 27 December 1822 - 31 March 1910 ---------------------------------------------------- Hampton's Murcury Kingston, MO Friday, April 8, 1910 The funeral of Mrs. Narcissa Milstead, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Amanda Cadman, Thursday of last week, took place Saturday at 11 a.m. from Mrs. Cadman's residence, Rev. W. E. Barksdale preaching the funeral, the grandsons of deceased acting as pall bearers---interment taking place at Kingston cemetery. Mrs. Milstead ws 88 years of age and death was due to general debility, although within the last two weeks she had been able to be up and around and was feeling very well. Mrs. Milstead, whose maiden name was Mann, was born in Ray county, and lived in Ray, Daviess and Caldwell counties all her life, residing here for the past twenty years. Her husband died about twenty years ago. Jerry Mann,* her father, built the first house erected in this county, near Far West. The deceased is survived by ten children, as follows: Mrs. J. A. Leabo, Kansas City; James F. Milstead of Oregon; Mrs. Nancy J. Calvin, Hamilton; John H. Milstead, Maryville, MO; Mrs. M. E. Cadman, Kingston; R. M. Milstead, Braymer; Mrs. Jas. Harlow, Kingston; Mrs. Eliza Smith, Marceline; E. S. Milstead, Oregon, and C. J. Milstead of Hamilton. With the exception of the two sons in the state of Oregon, all the children were present at the funeral. Mrs. Milstead had been a member of the Methodist church since childhood. *The name of Mrs. Milstead's father was Jesse Mann and not Jerry Mann.
