I am trying to trace my Tarwater line and it seems to have dead-ended with my Gr. Gr. Gr. Grandfather Robert Holt Tarwater. He was born in 1825 in TN. His parents were both born in TN, but I don't have their names. The census records for that early aren't very helpful. Robert H. Tarwater married Rebecca Maddox, who was also born in TN. At some point they moved to Missouri, where their children were born. They lived in Cedar County, Missouri during the 1850 census. His daughter was Louisa Jane Tarwater, my Gr. Gr. Grandmother. Any connection to your Tarwaters? Please reply. Thanks. Michele Harmon

    3. Hi I have also hit a huge brick wall regarding my Tarwater family ties. My gg grandfather was David Fletcher who married Rebecca Tarwater abt 1806 in Franklin County, IN. They migrated to Mo abt 1820. Rebecca is buried in the Riffe Cemetery in Ray County, MO. I haven't been able to find out anything on my Rebecca Tarwater. I am not giving up, although I have moved on to some of my other ancestors, I am going to re-focus my efforts soon.
