Below are parts of a history book and a will. It says the mill was located in Elkhorn. I assume that was the name of the town, but cannot find it on the map. Does anyone know where Elkhorn and/or the mills were located? Thank You, Kay Johnston Tucker -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- William Alexander Ogg III, along with two of his brothers, Thomas Jeptha Ogg and Napoleon Boneparte Ogg, left Kentucky in 1868 and settled in Ray County, Missouri. They all had farm land and were all owners of a grist-mill and saw-mill. Obituary: We are pained to announce the death of our close personal fried, William A. Ogg, which occured Saturday afternoon last, at his farm near Storm's school house, 10 miles southwest of Richmond. the deceased was 60 years old and a native of Madison County, Kentucky, where we first knew him nearly 35 years ago. He married Lizzie Duerson, a playmate of our youth, who with 8 children survive him, 4 boys and 4 girls, all about grown. Mr. Ogg was member of the Christian Church and an ernest, consistent christian man, one who was well liked by a large circle of friends, and whose loss will be keenly felt, not only by his family, but by the entire neighborhood. He came to Missouri in 1875, and was connected with his brother Jeptha for awhile in the mill in Elkhorn. He then purchased and moved to the farm where he died. His remains were laid to rest at South Point burying ground in the presence of a large circle of mourners. A good man, a kind father, a loving husband, and a christian man, thus he sleeps his last sleep.
