    1. North Kansas City
    2. I received an email this morning informing me about the difference between North Kansas City and Kansas City North and just how knowledgeable they were. They totally took my email out of context as I was not condemning anyone's knowledge. I did reply as to why I am so proud of North Kansas City. Here is my reply just in case so I could have insulted you as this was not my intention. I apologize that I touched a sensitive nerve and you took my post completely out of context. Since you chose to not post this to the MORay I will not want to either as I don't want to embarrass you in anyway. My daughter is a teacher and I well know by address which is in what city and what school district. North Kansas City is an old old town too but a wonderful place to live because of the tax base we have and what it brings us in benefits, with the industrial area and the river boat casino. Our property sells for far more than it would in Kansas City North or Liberty just for these reasons. I know many posted in the Tapes that we were selfish because we didn't share our income with outsiders; which, if they would read correctly would have known we did and still do. Until the Liberty Hospital and St. Luke's North was built none of you would have had a hospital as the people being taxed here built the North Kansas City Hospital. Then even before the other hospitals were built outsiders complained because all the members of the hospital board were residents of North Kansas City...so we did invite others to serve. There wouldn't be as nice a park as Macken park for outsiders to use if we didn't have it and it is a very very nice one as you know. Then the outsiders complained about letting the residents have first choice for dates to use the park. We get free trash pick up 3 times a week, Our water bill runs about $10.00 per month, our real estate taxes are very cheap, we do not have to have an auto tax sticker, Our trees are beautiful and taken care of completely by the city of any part that hangs over the sidewalk. Our fireman come to the elderly or handicapped homes to change or install smoke alarms. Our police force has more officers per capita than any other place that I know of. Our personal property taxes are very very low as well as our real estate taxes. We are now in the process of building new homes, apartments and townhouses which will only enhance this little city. We have some nice restaurants a very reasonably priced grocery store and a beautiful downtown area even if there not a choice of business as we had before Metro North was built. Of course you know Antioch Shopping Center is already dead and due to be torn down, and Metro North is close to drawing it's last breath. We had for years a free taxi ride anywhere in the city for the elderly and handicapped, and people misused it so we now have a Metro handicapped equipped bus that we can ride anywhere in the city for 10 cents. In the past 3 years they have relined all our sewer system, and laid down new sidewalks and used decorative paving bricks in the downtown area. We have a 20 million dollar well equipped community center which people all over the area since they live or work in this area are members. Our rates for a membership are less than any other in greater Kansas City. Soon they will start building retail/office space. I also should mention any household discard you might have if you can get it to the curb it is hauled off. Our yard waste is also picked up and we do not have to buy paper grass bags. I have done business with the same pharmacy through 4 owners for the past 45 years. We had a business here until we retired in 1978. So you can see why I am so proud to be a resident of North Kansas City and have had enough experience to know what I am talking about. We may not be a very fancy city and our homes are very old but well kept why we are a proud people and do not want bank robberies, rapes and burglaries or any other crimes reported to be in North Kansas City when they actually are in Kansas City North. The new homes they are building are starting at $200,000.00 and are selling fairly quickly so others must see the joy they can enjoy to become a resident. Vivian

    3. Gee Whiz, you make me feel homesick for the good "northland area" We moved to the Lake of the Ozarks, and I wish everyday that I could be back in KCN. North Kansas City, Mo. is an example of what you can do, if you want to do it. Hang In There. ----- Original Message ----- From: <KayceKay@aol.com> To: <MORAY-CGA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: 18 February, 2005 10:44 AM Subject: [MORAY-CGA] North Kansas City > I received an email this morning informing me about the difference between > North Kansas City and Kansas City North and just how knowledgeable they were. > They totally took my email out of context > as I was not condemning anyone's knowledge.
