Annp. 1613 This Bible has no section for births, marriages, deaths., but blank page was used to record the following: "My Father, Robert Allison, passed 1772. (The name during long years has been spelt, Allyson,Ellison, Elison, Allison). My mother was Mary Lide or Lloyd, (daut. to Robert Lloyd from Wales to Penn. abt. 1683.) My grandparents were John Allison & Elizabeth Matthews of Va. He being son of Robt. and Ann Myhill. He being son of Cpt. Robt. Allison and Hanna Gerard of Maryland and VA. He being son of Robt. Allison & Sarah Spence of Va. He being son of John Allison, Ellison b. Windyedge County, Lanark, Scotland, who marr'd with Ellin Hamilton & came to Virginia in early days before 1625. The first ones of our family lived in Va. & Maryland. I hereby name my Bros. & Sisters- (1) Brother Matthew & Mary were married 1743 & their offspring were: Joseph, Robt B 1752, Elizabeth, James, John B. 1762 m. Lucy Erwin & John Jr. M. Tabytha Spence. (2) Bro. Robert 1720-90 lived in Cheraw, Laurens. M. Elizabeth Scott 1740. Offspring: Rob, James. Bro. Robt M. 2nd. 1766 Frances Avant. Offspring - Joseph, Saml., Francis Lewis, Watson. Daus.-Rob Jr. B. 1741 M. Mary Jonathan Johnston, & eldest, Johnston M. Mary Susan Pows--Lewis Marr'd Margt. Powers, and haad 10 offspring--JAMES M. MARY KILGORE, offspring - James, John who B. 1774 M. Elizabeth Crerswell--etc. (3) Sister Mary. M. 1751 Hugh Ervin Sr. (See Ervin Bible). (4) Bro John b. 1736, rem'd longer in Va. M. there 1765 Ann Cresswell, Offspring - JJ - M. Martha Pleasants, Wm. E. Cresswell, James, Ann, Martha. Robert Allison (Ellison) ESQ my grandfather passed on 1st/May 1772. Elizabeth Ervin my living grandmother and consort to John Ervin, Sr. passed about midnight 18th Nov. 1795. lamented by family and community".
