    3. I too have found information in the text about kin who were not mentioned in the index. Thankfully some sources are digitally publishing these books making them thoroughly searchable. Greene county, MO even has there uploaded & searchable on the internet. Those interested in the Ozark counties should visit the Ozark Digital Library. http://198.209.8.166/sheproom/index.html A word of caution though. My records indicated that my GGrandfather died in Dec. 1890. The history of Ray County states that he served as Ray County Coroner from 1891-1894. I went to the Ray County Genealogical library at the museum & read the microfilm copy of the 1890 Richmond newspaper & found a front page news item about his death. I went to the County Clerks's office & looked up the official record of the November, 1890 election results & discovered that he had been elected. His bond was posted, but he died in Dec. & a coroner was appointed to fill the vacancy. In compiling the book, official records were used, but unfounded assumptions were sometimes made. Shirley
