    3. Mark, I am a descendent of Wm. Bales and Elizabeth Adamson and was doing some research on the Bales recently. I copied 24 different Bales marriages from Ray Co. marriage books, but do not have one for Lucy. I have 7 Lucy Bales in my data base. Who are her parents? There are a large number of Bales in Carroll Co as well. Have you checked there? I did not find Carroll Co. marriage books at the Mid-Continent Lib. in Independence MO where I was researching. I have had great luck writing directly to the County and getting copies from them for $1.00 each. Since you know both parties names it will be easier to search. There used to be a woman on this list who had all the Ray Co. marriage books. She was a great help to me. Are you familiar with the Bales web site? It has some great information. This marriage must have taken place in Ray Co around 1890. Are there any records still in existance from that time? I'm in Virginia and don't have ready access to info from MO. 3. Hi Donna, Ok, this is a little weak, as I have no proof, but my database shows her parents as Walter and Nannie (SULLINGER) BALES. No dates on them, but I have Lucy as Mar 1868, based on the 1900 Census. Does she look familiar? Thanks, Mark “Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more.
