My father would not tell us about his family, except that he had 5 brothers and 5 sisters. His name was Harold Jerry (born Jan 5, 1904) with brothers named Sam and James. One sisters name was Hatti. My mother said that he was as stubborn as a Missouri mule and that he was from the "show me state" and hence the assumption that he was raised in the St. Louis MO area. I hope that someone recognizes the brothers and sisters names. Thanks in advance for your help. > > > ==== MORAY-CGA Mailing List ==== > Ray County Genealogical Assn. 901 W. I'm descended from Michael Ringer born in Pa near the Maryland line in 1812. So far we haven't been able to find any info on his parents or siblings. The only hint I have is that his father came from Rotterdam to Baltimore and he had four brothers as told by one of his granddaughters but no one seems to know what their names were. One of his sons went west to Ohio when he was young but returned to Addison Twp where he lived and raised his family. They belonged to the Lutheran Church so there's a good chance they were of german anscestory--Myrna

    3. Joanne: You can probably obtain the death certificate from the Missouri Bureau of Vital Records. Their mailing address is: P O Box 570 Jefferson City, MO 65102. You will need to furnish the following information: First, middle and last name of the deceased Date of death Place of death (city and/or county) Your relationship to the deceased Your reason for requesting the record They have death records from 1910 to the present, according to the information I have. Their fee is $10 per copy for a five year search. I just received four certificates from them earlier this month. They arrived in about two weeks. As for the funeral homes, you might want to check the Ray County website. It's possible that one of the Richmond funeral homes was involved. The Thurman Funeral Home records are not yet available online, but you might find someone to do a look-up. Best of luck in your search. 1. [MORAY-CGA] BROWN in Ray Co
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: BROWN, STEGALL, MICHAELS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/XNB.2ACI/445 Message Board Post: Looking for Sarah C Brown, born April 1846: 1. She is either the daughter of Thomas E Brown and Dalia Cox; Dalia died bef. 1855 and Thomas remarried Mary D. ? and had Ellen, Docia and George. Children of Thomas and Dalia were Mary Elizabeth, Sarah, William and James. Mary D may have been a STEGALL, daughter of Preston Stegall of TN, who had a son called John- they were living together in 1860. 2. She is the daughter of Elizabeth ? who married a BROWN and had Riley and James (twins), Luann, Judith and Sarah. Her husband must have died c. 1845- in 1848 she remarried William SLATER who died before 1850, or abandoned her- she is alone in 1850 with the children from her first marriage. She also has a Mary Field, 15 yrs old with her. Elizabeth was from GA. The only other possibility is that Sarah moved to KS as a child, before the 1850 census. I plan to check on the county where she was married at that time. I have checked the 1860 census for the Elizabeth Slater and her children, and I cannot find them. Sarah was married at 15 in 1860 in KS. Any ideas appreciated
