I got a death certificate today from 1911. there are different things crossed out and rewrote. What I would like to know is where the town of Henrietta (?) is or was, and if there is a Lawson cemetery. This is all in Ray County, Missouri. The informant was Sue Livingston. Thank you, Lena

Hi I have also hit a huge brick wall regarding my Tarwater family ties. My gg grandfather was David Fletcher who married Rebecca Tarwater abt 1806 in Franklin County, IN. They migrated to Mo abt 1820. Rebecca is buried in the Riffe Cemetery in Ray County, MO. I haven't been able to find out anything on my Rebecca Tarwater. I am not giving up, although I have moved on to some of my other ancestors, I am going to re-focus my efforts soon. Last week when I reported the link to deaths listed in The Lawson Review, I contacted the paper & asked if they were going to list this year. They did me one better, the have listed all of them from 1991 to 1998 on their website now. From http://12.14.205.58/ClientServices/NewsArticlesView.asp?category=4&PubCode=LWR click on the link for the year you want to look at. Shirley
Pam, I have Bales in my family, but could not find your family. The only Indian connection I know of is Betsy Hamlin. Are you familiar with the Bales family site? If not I can find the person to sign you up. They have a large family file and probably can help. The Hugh Blair I know had a sister named Brenda and two younger brothers or step brothers. I lost track of them when I went in the Navy in 1969, but I do remember him talking about a mine his father owned in Silverton Colorado (I'm not sure this is the town), but I am sure the mine was in Colorado. That's about all I can give you.

My interest was sparked as I noticed the combination of these names as my GRandfather was a Myers and his Father's name was Bird Myers and his Mother's Grandmother was Hattie Leroy(we believe). He and his siblings were left at a home for children in the late 1910's and we know very little of his family. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In case you didn't get it I am going to copy & paste that e-mail below. Of the children of Samuel you mention, Jacob is my line. I have not been able to locate John's son Ambrose Harvey Zemmer after they left KS. I think, but am not sure, his son, Jesse, stayed in TX. Both of them were dead before 1910 according to the 1910 Blaine Co., ID census. His daughter, Mary married Enos C. Walling and I am assuming your wife descends from the Obenchain line. Here is my e-mail to you: Hi David, I am so excited to hear from you I can hardly stand it. You are an angel. I had decided that I was the only person alive researching this line. You have told me some things that I didn't know. Now let me see if I can help you. My big problem is that I am unable to go to a library so I have to depend on what I can find online. First of all, I have pictures of John Zemmer, Jacob Jesse Zemmer, Sr., and Jacob Jesse Zemmer, Jr. I have a death certificate for John Zemmer. I have a land deed for Samuel Zemmer. I have letters that were written by Mary Zemmer, daughter of John, as they were on the Oregon Trail. She wrote the letters to her Aunt who was my great great grandmother, Mary Jane Warren Zemmer. Actually, I have copies of Mary's letters because I donated the actual letters to an Oregon Trail Society not too long ago. Anything you want a copy of just let me know and they are yours. My grandfather, Frank Zemmer, told me that the Zemmers came from PA around the Pittsburgh area and they had a pharmaceutical company. I have found some information regarding a Zemmer Pharmaceutical company but I have not yet been able to tie it to my Zemmers. I would love to have your GEDCOM and see what you have that I don't have. I use a PC and FTM. Let me know what you want that I have. I am really anxious to hear how your wife fits into my Zemmers. Sherry Please e-mai me direct as I have so much to share.

In the members list for lds people in nauvoo illinois in 1836-1847 There are several zemmers in one family. I have been to the library at byu and have seen the record. There is a father Samuel on the tax lists for 1842 and in the hancock county census for 1840. His wife is ann . I haven't bewen able to locate any more info as to birth date etc. they have children John, jacob, and Jesse which were under 8 years old and they lived in the 3rd ward area of nauvoo. On a separate page there is listed a catherine, a sarah, and a lyda zemmer. I have also looked for John Zemmer since he was my wife's great great grandfather on her mother's father's side. He died in blaine county idaho by his daughter lydia obenchain. His wife ws sarah elizabeth deacon. they are in the 1890,1900 and 1910 census. There is also a record of a john zemore and sarah dacon getting married in knox missouri at about the right! time period. My guess is that they were associated with the lds church but did not move to utah after the persecutions in nauvoo. this zemmer family went to kansas and texas then to idaho. one of his daughters moved to oregon and john died there but was brought back to idaho to be buried in hailey or ketchum. If I find more i will send it to you or send you a gedcom of what i have. dave smith
There is a bio in the 1880 Ray Co.History book: Henry Page was born in 1826 in Howard Co.Mo.. In the Autumn of 1835 he came to Ray co. where he has ever since made his home. A year later, by the death of his father, he was complelled at the early age of 10 years to commence to labor for the support of the family. He was thud denied the privileges that even those primitive times afforded for the acquirement of an education. Mr Page was married 8 Nov 1859 to Miss Emma Thompson of Ray Co. Six children were born., Joseph T, Sallie A, Nellie, Margaret S. Henry and Elizabeth. I am looking for a Mariah Page and I think Henry might be her brother, but have not proven that yet. Hope this helps some one. Joan Graham Atkinson
