Payne 27 June 1875 in Livingston County, MO. You could write to the Livingston County Courthouse for a copy of the marriage record. As for the obituaries, you can request a copy of the death certificate for each of them from Jefferson City, MO. There is a fee of either $10.00 or $12.00 for each copy. You might try writing to the Ray County Museum and ask them to check their records for a copy of an obituary. I can give you information from the census as to children if you still need that. Jeanne

    2. Phillips, John
    3. Hi Barbee, I have included a listing of the Pettus Cemetery. I was there a few years ago and took pictures of John and Amy Phillips' tomb stones (and Richard Phillips for that matter) if you are interested. There are a number of Phillips relatives in the cemetery. Gentrys, Owens and Pauls. I don't have any knowledge of a specific Pettus connections, but I believe that back in Virginia the Phillips, Pettus, McGills and Gentrys were all related and traveled together from VA, to KY, MO, KS and then to parts west incl. OR. I have not been able to determine where in VA these people came from but by tracking the satellite families I hope to narrow the field and then take a trip to VA and KY and spend some time digging! Pettus Cememtery Elkhorn, Ray County MO Located on the Glenn Pettus farm, east of the Elkhorn Elementary School on Highway 10 in Ray County MO. This is a transcript of a record by Carol Colleen Crowley and Joni Harris on November 5, 1985. It was passed on to my brother and me by Mr. Pettus. He says all the folks in this cemetery are related. I was in this cemetery in the summer of 2002 and took some pictures of the Phillips tombstones. The whole cemetery was badly overgrown. The cemetery is a good way off the road. It is fenced in as it is in the middle of a pasture. Mary A. Haynes d. Oct. 13, 1902 aged 39 yrs, 9 mos. 24 days dau. of Albert Haynes Albert M. Haynes d. 3. Hi, I have a Pearl Allen married to Hershel Kline in Springfield, Green Co.Mo. Pearls mother was an Alexander. Pearl died in 1978. Was interested to see if you might have info on Pearl and her family. Hershel Kline was my grandmothers brother, son of Jacob Kline and Martha Couch of Green Co.Mo. The James Madison Allen that I have in my files was a brother to my George W Allen.
