The libindx is invaluable.......only wish my family were from Moray and not Nairn. This also holds true with regard to what has been accomplished with the burial grounds in the area. Actually, was surprised to see the obit for Anne Ross who married John Calder indexed as she died in 1883 Columbus, Ontario and according to descendents was born in 1804 Auldearn, Nairn. I had thought up until the time I discovered this that the index was limited to the county of Moray. Although I was aware that some overseas obits were published in Scottish newspapers, never dreamed she would be listed in Moray. I learn something new every day!

It includes all the burial grounds in the present Moray, not the original county, which was rather smaller. It also includes people from the present area of Moray mentioned in various newspapers, and other information specific to the present area of Moray. The present Moray area includes the old county of Moray, less the parish of Cromdale Inverallan and Advie, plus the following parishes/districts of Banffshire: Enzie, Rathven, Cullen, Deskford, Seafield, Grange, Rothiemay, Keith, Botriphnie, Bellie (part), Boharm (part), Mortlach, Aberlour, Inveravon, and Kirkimichael. The following Banffshire parishes are not in Moray: Boyndie, Fordyce, Banff, Gamrie, Ordiquhill, Marnoch, Inverkeithny, King Edward, Alvah. Anne
