Dear Listers My Gt. Grandfather John STEWART died in 1904 at a hospital in Elgin - looks like Gray's. His usual address was North St. Bishopmill, Elgin. Libindx gives a headstone reference but no cemetery is named. Would this be in Bishopmill or Elgin itself? A headstone reference - is this a definite stone or likely to be the lair number? I have been shown in the past the location of an ancestor's grave, but no stone, in Leith. I had hoped that all John's wives would be mentioned on his death certificate but only my Gt. Grandmother is mentioned, Robina McLEOD. Then again, why would anyone particularly want to mention previous wives, unless, I suppose, they were the offspring of one of the earlier wives? Sheila.
