Anne, Thank you for that advice/hint. I noticed that there was a Burgess family appearing in several of the census lists for Bogmoor...with one of their young ladies (Elspeth)combining with an Andrew Thomson from my tree to produce an Alexander Thomson in 1887 "on the wrong side of the blanket". Is this Burgess family yours,by any chance? Tom C.
