Not as far as I know, though if we could but get a bit further back, who knows? I have amassed quite a lot of information about this family (and indeed all the other Burgess families in this part of the world) in the process of researching my own. This Elspet is a granddaughter of Alexander Burgess, who married Barbara Logie on the very same day that John Burgess, son of John Burgess and Helen Miller, married Elizabeth Buie, both in Bellie. Unfortunately Alexander died in 1819 so I cannot prove that he was a brother of John, though it does seem probable. Do you want details of Elspet's family? Best wishes Anne
Anne, Re offer of Burgess information, yes please. It is a bit remote from my main line of interest but in this accretion of family information I'm a glutton! More is better as far as I am concerned, though one does tend to disappear under the piles! Tom C.
