    1. Re: [MORAY] OGSTOUN/PLEWLANDIS/CRANNOCHT

    3. Goldie, Plewlands: exists, as per Anne's reply. Ogstoun: one of the Lands and People of Moray series of books, Pt. 12 is entitled "Western Part of the Parish of Drainie (the Former Parish of Ogstoun)". So that goes some way to answer your query. Cannot say whether Ogstoun was also a specific house as well as a whole parish. I get a bit confused with all these parish name changes, but LIBINDX has several references to Ogstoun (and Hogstoun). Both Plewlands and Ogstoun turn up for me, one in the context of the FLYTER or FLYTTER family. James FLYTER of Gladhill married Grisel GEDDES, d/o Alexander GEDDES of Dallachie, prob in 1706 - they had one daughter Christian FLYTER in 1707. And a Christian GEDDES (b 1673) died in 1720 at Ogstoun; William RICHIE died in 1705, s/o James RICHIE & Christian GEDDES, his MI stating they were 'sometime in Plewland'. (Gladhill is just to the west of Kingston/Garmouth and on the OS looks like a substantial house. Crannocht: I have this note, courtesy of Alyson Kelman: "Thomas INNES II of Edingight bought two thirds of Wester Croylet 1569-77 and then bought Crannat Strype from his brother Jerome INNES in 1581." I don't know where Crannat Strype is, and I do not know whether that is related to Crannoch in Grange, which is of course near Edingight. Hope this helps! Regards Howard Geddes
