Can anyone give me a more specific location or > grid reference please? I have tried Old Maps without luck. Rather than waste your time (and possibly money) on Old-Maps, try the free-of-charge 19th century Ordnance Survey maps on the site of the National Library of Scotland: http://www.nls.uk Because of the way the site works, it is not possible to give a direct URL for the image you want, but if you work your way down the Menus as follows you will find it: Digital Library - Maps - Series Maps of Scotland - Ordnance Survey maps 1847-1930 - 25 inch to the mile ... Then pick "By zoomable map ..." From the drop-down lists pick "Moray" for County and "Rafford" for Parish/Burgh, enter "Blackhills" for place (Reverrand is not indexed) and click on search. This brings up a list of hits - click on "Blackhills, Moray NJ0654". This brings up a lo-res map covering the area. Click on the left-hand of the two "+" symbols above the map, then click on the map. Once you can see "Blackhills" (which is straight south of "Rafford") click on the "grabbing hand" and use that tool to centre the image on "Blackhills". Then use the "+" tool again to zoom further in, until you can read the legends. Finally, use the "grabbing hand" to pan west from Blackhills, and you will find Reverrand. Phew! Gavin Bell
