    3. Sherry, My research shows that Janet Georgina GRANT. daughter of Major John GRANT of Auchterblair, & Mary PROCTOR, was born 1797, Christened Inveravon, Banff, Scotland, died 29 Jun, 1866; married 21 April 1831 to Captain James GORDON, son of James GORDON, of 'Croughley', born 1776, Christened 4 Jun 1776, Kirkmichael, Banff. He died at Ivy Bank, (Now the Nairn museum), Nairn, 9 Apr 1867, aged 90. He was a Captain 92nd Highlanders, and was known at one time, as Captain James Gordon of Revack. James GORDON & Janet Georgina GRANT has five children. James GORDON fathered three children with Margaret KNIGHT prior to his marriage to Janet Georgina GRANT. I need to go back to my GORDON research and check for a marriage here, and details for Margaret KNIGHT. I am married to a direct descendant of Ann GORDON, daughter of James GORDON, of Croughley. I am still searching for any birth details, etc of daughters born to William Alexander GORDON, and his first two 'marriages'. The sons were mostly soldiers, fitting as he was a Major General, and a leader against Napoleon. Much of my GORDON research has been through the Nairn Museau, and the GORDON Rootsweb site. Can you advise me of some of the internet site, etc that you have discovered details on Janet Georgina GRANT? I am most interested. Regards, Colleen R. 3. Sherry, I have a problem with this as I have a Janet Grant born 1797 to John Grant and Mary Proctor but this John Grant is a farmer in Bellehiglash, Inveravon. The Libindx Moray site has Janet Georgina Grant who married Captain James Gordon, born about 1810 and her death was 9th April 1867 as you state but her age was 56 at death, so 1810 would be correct assuming the Moray details are correct. The Moray Cemetery site has all the details of Captain James Gordon and his family. Kirkmichael Headstone Km150. 3. George & Coleen, I neglected to add a note about "form submitted" records on the IGI. These usually start with a batch number 7. In my limited experience researching my own family, 97% of these can also be found on scotlandspeople. I am not sure what this means, the first number 7 and the designate of "form submitted" as opposed to "record submitted"; all I can tell you is not to discount them. All recorded entries under batch 7---- of children pertaining to Rev. Patrick Grant and Beatrice Campbell are also indexed by scotlandspeople.
