    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Forfarian Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.scotland.mor.general/2380.3/mb.ashx Message Board Post: David and James, aged 2, are in the 1851 census at 'Ditch, Logie' in Edinkillie with parents Peter and Isabella and Isabella's unmarried sister Catherine. You can see a transcription online at http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl and an image of the original at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk The 1881 census lists Jas Fraser, married, age 32, gamekeeper, born Edinkillie as a visitor in the household of Walter Neilson, iron moulder, 29, born Glasgow and his wife isabella Ferguson, 28, born Callander at 115 Renfield street in Glasgow. So you are right in saying that he became a gamekeeper. You need to check the other censuses (1871, 1891, 1901) to see where he was living and working, who his wife was and whether they had any children. Perhaps someone who has access to Ancestry could look him up in their index, then you will be able to find the original at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk at modest cost. Hope this helps. 2. Thank you so much for your time and help. I appreciate the time people on this site take to help each other. What I really hope to find out are family stories. I would love to find out if they kept in touch. Why one twin would make such a large move by himself? Did they keep in touch? With any luck they might have family photos (that they labeled) we could share. thanks, Cindy -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: MORAY-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sun, Mar 21, 2010 3:34 am Subject: Re: [MORAY] Fraser, James: 2 Sep 1848 Edinkillie, Moray/old photos This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
