Hi, I have found on Libindex reference to Thomas Scott Laird of Milleny who had sons named JOHN, THOMAS, ANDREW and GEORGE all who were alive in 1730. I was wondering if any one might know were Milleny might be? regards Graham

It seems a bit strange, given that your source is a sasine indexed in Moray, but I am going to stick my neck out and suggest that it is Malleny, which is in Balerno, just outside Edinburgh in the county of Midlothian. The first Laird of Malleny was John Scott, and he was succeeded in 1709 by his son Thomas, 2nd Laird. Thomas was succeeded by his son John. Try googling for Scott Malleny, and see what you think. Malleny House is now in the hands of the National Trust for Scotland, and the gardens are open to the public. Hope this helps. Anne
