My "comprehensive" reply is due to the fact that every once in awhile, I like to get my research interests into the list archives (but also like to be clear that my findings are not Gospel)......not very many folks looking for Calder's so when a query is posted....I become a tad greedy :) I have never given up hope that someday I will find a link to my fourth great's immediate family (James Calder born 1785 Nairnshire); conversely, I am not very aggressive with regard to posting my interests to the lists unless someone inquires (at that point would like to post the entire family tree!!) With regard to Rathven, my earlier post pertained to a Calder descendent who married a Pirie and eventually settled in the Rathven area... James Calder / Katharine MacCurrach had a son John Calder in 1763/1765 Nairn, Nairnshire. John Calder married Margaret Bain in 1785 Nairn, Nairnshire. They in turn had a daughter Alexandrina in 1796 Nairn, Nairnshire. Alexandrina Calder married James Rose in 1826 Nairn, Nairnshire and they in turn had a daughter Helen born 1829 Forres, Morayshire. Helen Calder married Alexander Pirie in 1851 Auldearn, Nairnshire and it is this family who ended up in the Rathven area.
