William, The scotlandspeople site dropped off line this evening. When it comes back up, I'm sure they will explain the cause (perhaps a power outage or server crash). As to your problem with viewing your record, there is an area for complaints in which you send them the record number and the problem. I have had problems twice and after notifying them, I've received an email apology, an air-mailed copy of the record, the restoration of my 5 page credits and a restart of my research time.
