    1. Ancestry vs. Scotlands People
    2. I took advantage of Ancestry's trial for Great Britain and wasn't successful in finding any relatives, so I quickly cancelled it. I do have a regular subscription to Ancestry to look up US census records - certain years do have extra information and can be helpful to backtrack to find more family. I am willing to do US census lookups for anyone - if you have a few it doesn't make sense to pay the fee. I have found Scotland's People to be very helpful, even though I'd rather be in Edinburgh to do my own lookups, I don't think I have come close to paying for an airline ticket yet when buying credits.
