Hello all, I joined the list a few days ago, and was delighted to learn of the new Libindx at moray.org. I am researching the PHILIP family in Morayshire, and found references to several members of my family, including Alexander Philip (NM139191) and his wife Annie McLaren (NM139214). I am also fortunate (or frustrated?) to have an old family album with the inscription "Alexander Philip, 1872" that contains many unidentified photographs. If anyone has family with connections to this branch of the PHILIP or MCLAREN family, the entire album is up at http://www.flickr.com/groups/philip_1872/ -- along with some photos from other sources on that side of the family. I've listed photographers and places in the group discussion, and each photograph is tagged with this data as well. For example, it's possible to click on the tag "elgin" to find all the photographs taken there. At the moment, the group discussion is limited to invitation, although anyone can view the photographs. If there is any general interest in these photographs beyond my own immediate family, I'd be happy to open the group more generally. As far as genealogy goes, I've traced Alexander back to David PHILIP (NM139247) and Margaret CRUICKSHANK, but am unable as yet to find any reference to his father, who I believe was a William Philip.
