    3. Hello Ray, So far my Calder's are from Nairn. All I have is an OPR for James CALDER chr. 1785, parents William CALDER and Isobel LAMB. I have an OPR of who may be his father, William CALDER chr. 1758. I am guessing this as on the 1787 christening for James it mentions that the only witness was the child's grandfather, James CALDER. This was the only William with a father James that I could find in about the right time period (but the database is not done yet so I may find more later). No mother is listed and this William was christened the day he was born. In looking at that time period, this is what I found: Date Forename Father Mother Parish 10-Feb-1754 Isobel James Calder not given not given Nairn not given 06-Mar-1756 Margaret James Calder not given not given Nairn not given 29-Oct-1758 William James Calder not given not given Nairn not given 16-Oct-1760 James James Calder Catherine Macpherson Nairn not given 29-Jul-1763 John James Calder Catherine McUrich Nairn not given 29-Jun-1765 John James Calder not given not given Nairn not given The OPR for William above: 1758 - 29th October Baptized a child to James Calder, Farmer in Town called William born said day. Witnesses William Taylor, William McKay, William Sutherland, Elizabeth Robertson and Catharine McUrich. As it is fun to speculate, Catherine MacPherson may have been James Calder's first wife and Catherine McUrich his second. Sorry that I could not have been more help. Sherry Canton, MI
