    3. Can anyone tell me what information the poor relief records would contain. I have just found my 3rd great grandmother Margaret (Robertson) Chalmers (wife of James Logie Chalmers) applying for poor relief at age 96. I assume she is living in Elgin at the time. Can the poor relief records be ordered from the Elgin library or how does one access the information they contain? This find was because of the new Libindx - what a great site.
