I cannot help with "Moray pirates", but on the subject of <some cattle rustling along the borders> for a good read get hold of a copy of "The Steel Bonnets". This lists most of the families involved, but one major omission is the HUTTON name. My copy of the book is on loan to a friend, so I am unable to comment on ELLIOTT involvement. Pat(rick) R. L. I don't know about pirates but there was some cattle rustling along the borders and I understand the ELLIOTT clan was one of the border clans. Does this help? My great-grandfather William Elliott Gillean told his grandson Roscoe Gillean that our ancestors were pirates before they came to America. Does anyone on this list know of any Moray History books or other books that deal with Moray pirates? Thanks for any help. ______________________________ ______________________________
