As the county of Nairn is now included in Highland for local government purposes, you would be better starting in Inverness - and it's nearer than Aberdeen! There is a full-time staff genealogist in Inverness Public Library who would probably be a good first point of contact. See http://www.highland.gov.uk/educ/publicservices/genealogy.htm Lots of useful background and pointers at http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/sct/NAI/ For hotels etc, the official site is http://www.visitscotland.com/accommodation/ HTH Anne
