Hello, I am trying to trace my mothers side of the family. I am fairly confident that her grandfather who was Joseph Taylor is the same who was born in St Andrews Lhanbryd 4th March 1861 as Joseph Forsyth Taylor. His parents were William Taylor and Margaret Forsyth and married St Andrews Lhanbryd 27th May 1843. They were said to be related to William Taylor, sheriff/clerk of Dornoch, born Tain 5th January 1778. Joseph Taylor, it is said lived next door to Ramsay Macdonald in Lossiemouth as a boy, worked as a young man in the police force and later moved down to London. He then became a Freemason and also worked at Middlesex Hospital as head of catering. He lived in Goodge Street with his family. He had four daughters and one son, William Gladstone Taylor who was my mothers father. I would be delighted if someone could supply some links or any kind of information that may help. Best wishes, Tony Savery
