Hello Gary: My research re: Peterkin is just in the beginning stages. From what I have thus far the only William I have come across would be too young. I know there are others researching Peterkin/Grant from going through the archives but so far no William. I hesitate to take anything at face value until I have gone through the registers. I'm afraid I'm one of those people who has to see the document before I'm satisfied. You mentioned the Navy. Have you tried to follow up on that lead? I'm sure there are listers who would know where you should look for naval information and ships lists. I seem to recall someone mentioning that Canada has some very good records re: immigration. The only thing I know for certain is that Ann Peterkin did marry David Morrison in Kirriemuir. And one of their sons, David Peterkin Morrison married in Suffolk and eventually moved his family to the U.S. shortly after the great Chicago fire. I know that Ann was his mother because I have DP Morrison's death certificate (Illinois). Hopefully once I have the tapes from Kirriemuir and Dyke, Moray I will come across more information.
