Hi Mary I have re-checked all the sources held in Elgin for deaths/burials for Rathven, and there is nothing at the right time for your Hector Cunningham Rathven Kirkyard: 1859-1881 and 1877-1988 Hillhead: 1900-1963 and 1901-1988 Buckie: 1897-1988, 1898-1988 and 1901-1988 St Ninians: 1883-1988 Burnside: 1924-1988 Rathven Parish Register: 1724-1790 Rathven Episcopal Register: 1835-1836 only Preshome RC Registers: 1794-1798 and 1805-1829 Enzie Free Church: none at all There are no Cunningham baptisms in either the RC or the Episcopal registers between 1830 and 1840, and the Free Church ones don't start until 1844, of course. It is possible that there may be something in the Rathven Kirk Session minutes, but as Gavin says, they are held in the National Archives of Scotland in Edinburgh.
