    3. Good morning everybody, Ann Matthew, one of my Matthew's family in Elgin, married a John Campbell, also in Elgin, on 25 May 1839. John died, aged 28, in Elgin on 7 April 1847. The couple's children were named James, John, Ann, Robert Alexander, and William Ferguson and were born in Elgin, Forres and Nairn. I am experiencing a degree of difficulty in finding John's parents. A brother, Alexander Campbell, Shoemaker, definitely had two sons. John , born 1838, who became a Miller and emigrated to Queensland, Australia about 1870 and Alexander, a self taught teacher, who taught at a school in Lady Lane and later at an Industrial School at Kelso. Alexander (senior's) death could not be found on Scotlandspeople A poor relief application by Ann Wink would indicate that he may have died in the 1840s. (The Moray Index is a beauty). Baptism records indicate that other siblings (?) with the given names of James, Catharine, Ann and Robert could have existed during the 1840s. If possible could some one assist me to pinpoint John Campbell's parents around 1800 - 1825 in Elgin or give me some sort of overview of the Campbell families in Elgin (?) at the time. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Regards Scott Matthews (Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia)
