    3. Hi All, I agree that the site is excellent. I have family tree info that could be added to the site as several of my relatives are in the name list. Does anyone know how to add the tree info? Highland Railway pictures would have been a nice addition too as some of my relatives worked for the Highland Railway. Also, one person Philip McLeod (there are only two) is indicated as having a brother William McLeod (which William???). This Philip is the son of Andrew McLeod and Ann McLeod from Nigg, Ross & Cromarty. My William McLeod is from Nigg, Ross & Cromarty and as yet, although both familes ended up in Forres, Moray, I haven't been able to link the families. Either Andrew or Ann McLeod or both could be related to my family. It seems strange seeing my grandparents death entries with their deaths being in the latter half of the last century. (Now that does seem strange saying last century !!) Well I hope other visitors find the site as helpful as I have done, thats another few lose ends tied up Carol Admin Moray Mailing List www.wakefieldfhs.org.uk/morayweb ==== MORAY Mailing List ==== MORAY OPR's. 3. First, the Libindx is a super resource to have online. Congratulations to Graeme Wilson and his colleagues. I've used the previous in-house version on several occasions, and was severely impressed by the amount of work that had gone into the indexing. The only trouble is that the online version has removed one excellent excuse for me to actually visit Elgin! Regarding Gordon McLeod's specific point, at least one list of employees of the Highland Railway exists: one is/was available to researchers in what was the SRO at West Register House. If I recall correctly, it was employees employed in 1914/1915 with their prior history of employment with the railway. I am Archivist for The Highland Railway Society. We have just this past week acquired a ledger "Highland Railway - List of Employees in Locomotive Department" dated 1906, it has handwritten alphabetic entries of all those signing on with the HR, from 1906 until the great War, with occupations, dates of entry and leaving HR service, and remarks. I'm not sure how it relates to the ledger at the SRO. Re McLeods, I can tell you that: - George McLeod was employed as a wagon builder from 28 Sep 06 to 13 Jan 1910. - John A McLeod was a labourer 5 Dec 1906 to 6 July 1907 in the Carriage Shops, and later in the fitting shop 1913/14 - he left again on 22 Jan 1914. - Robert McLeod, fitter, 9 Apr 1910 - 31 Jan 1911. - Wm McLeod - cleaner at Aviemore 6 Mar 1913, left 10 Apr 1913 must not have liked it much! - Murdo McLeod barboy(?) 23 Jul 1913 - 17 May 1914 - Angus McLeod, apprentice wagon builder 31 Mar 1914 - (blank) - Don McLeod, loadman(?) Inverness 15 Jun 1914 - (blank) - Daniel McLeod, cleaner, 8 Jul 1914 - 3 Aug 1914. Above is just a one-off. I'm afraid it's not possible to offer a 'look-up' service, so please don't ask! If anyone's interested, they'll have to join the Society first. We have a website http://www.hrsoc.org.uk/ which is currently under reconstruction but the old version is still accessible.
