We have a Mary Davidson from Cruden who married a Charles HAY and lived in Midmar until her death. She had 6 children from memory (1 illegitimate). Not sure if this helps. I have a few Davidsons in my family tree as well, but haven't been able to connect all of them yet (if there is a connection) Jane Ann Taylor b. Jan 1, 1878 Inchbery married Peter Davidson b May 10, 1879 Rothes. Peter's parents were James Davidson Feb 24, 1850 Elgin & Catharine Gordon Nov 11, 1844 Cromdale and Inverallan, they were married Dec 24, 1874 Cromdale and Inverallen and Advie, Inverness. James Davidson's parents are William Davidson & Isabella Rattray/Shearer. I also have Jessie Davidson born about 1831 Elgin and married John MacKenzie Dec 16, 1853 in Elgin. Closest match for her parents might be Duncan Davidson & Janet Fraser. And last but not least, Robert Davidson married Helen MacWilliam 1869 Elgin. Robert's parents were Samuel Davidson and Margaret Watson. My great grandmother was working for Helen MacWilliam's mother, Elsie Mc William on the 1881 Census and I wondered if there might be a connection.
