Does anyone have a connection to the above couples? I am possibly connected to Wm, but a brickwall exists. I am hoping to find a way around it. I think Geo is his brother. I would also be very interested to hear from anyone who has a JAMIESON connection. Regards George London UK
Hi George, I have an Ann Jamieson in my tree. What I do know is that Ann Jamieson married Alexander Davidson. They had at least one child, James Davidson born 1786 in Rathven. That is all I know. I too have hit a brick wall. Here is the info I received from the Moray Council - "Since James Davidson and Helen Simpson were married in the RomanCatholic Church and their children were baptized into it, it seems probablethat his parents Alexander Davidson and Ann Jamieson were also members. Unfortunately the earliest known surviving Catholic baptism records for the Buckie area are 1787 (Preshome, Enzie) and marriage are 1794. We have found no mention of Alexander and Ann Davidson in these records. Similarly we have found no mention of them on a legible gravestone in Moray. It may prove fruitful to contact the Scottish Catholic Archives:- http://www.catholic-heritage.net/sca/genealogy.htm I have not contact the the catholic heritage yet.
