    3. I had asked Ross if there was a link on Libindx website as my 2xg grandfather Graham Gordon McBain was one of those whose dates were down as ? - ? and only his initials were shown. Thank you to Ross and all who replied I know now to be patient with any response as Graeme Wilson at the Heritage Centre is inundated with replies. His wife Barbara was the daughter of William McConnachie and Elizabeth Garden, and was born 1 July 1860 at Glen of Newmill, Keith. She married George on 20 March 1880 at Newmill. Their son William Christie was born on 26 April 1880 at Glen of Newmill, and Barbara died of phthisis on 22 September 1883 at Glen of Newmill. She was a patient in Chalmers Hospital, Banff in the 1881 census., though I have yet to look at the hospital records to see why she was admitted. I have the census details from 1861, 1871 and 1891 for Barbara's family in Newmill. Barbara's father seems to have been born in about 1828 in Enzie, according to the 1891 census. George's second marriage, to Rachel Shearer, was also cut short by the early death of his wife. His third wife outlived him. Anne

Hi I have already passed amendments to about 50 sheets I downloaded from the index simply by photocopying what was there already and amending or adding to them manually after which I have sent them off to Graeme Wilson at the Heritage Centre. From what he has said in an email to me they are inundated with requests for information and updates to be carried out. If you are sending information in any other way than I have done be sure to quote the Reference No. on the sheet. Ian A C Scott

    3. Hello List. I am still trying to locate the death of James Wiseman bn 1809-1812c Drainie, most of the family are buried in Kinneddar Churchyard. I know not all folk buried in churchyards are abler to be accounted for. Jame's father Alexander who died in 1855 is buried there in Kinneddar but is not listed in the booklet, and neither is James. I have searched the Drainie film and burials only go up to 1852, and I have a feeling he may have died between 1850-1855, I think he fathered a child in 1849. When his father died in 1855 details of him said he (James) was deceased on the death of his father. I have checked the 1851 Census no sign of James. Could I ask anyone tripping the light fantastic through near by churchyards looking for your kin folk, a little detective work looking for my James would be appreciated. I am not sure if there are other Churchyards in Lossiemouth, Urquhart, Drainie area. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Pearl M.

    3. > Anne, your modesty only adds to your stature............. You are very kind, but please believe me, Ray, I have had **nothing** to do with LIBINDX, apart from lending them the results of my research many years ago. The concept and execution is entirely the work of the staff of Moray Council's Libraries and IT departments, augmented by a Job Creation team and other temporary staff. I am determined that all credit should be given to those who decided (long before I even moved into this area) to record the MIs and index them on cards along with the newspaper references, and later to transfer the information to computer; who designed the database and improved it over the years; who decided to continue the work by indexing progressively the rest of the newspapers (some of which have yet to be done), the Poor Law records, Court records and other miscellaneous collections, and finally to make the whole lot available online. I could name some names, but if I do I will inevitably omit some people, simply because I was never a party to the process and do not know what contributions were made by whom. Anne
